Last year it was a puddle, now it's more like a sea, but Bewl Water, a reservoir in Kent, just SE of Tunbridge Wells, is great for a gentle country walk. You can walk (or run if you are training for a half marathon) all around its 15-mile perimeter. The reservoir was created from damming and flooding a network of valleys in the 1970s to create the largest body of inland water in SE England.
