FABULOUS BEACHES

Just over a kilometre away are the island's most beautiful and unspoilt beaches: sandy, safe, and stretching all  the way along the coast. 3km from the  kite-surfng hotspot of Mikri Vigla.

THE BEST OF GREECE, CONDENSED
Naxos has all that is great about Greece on one accessible island at the heart of the Cyclades. It is rich in mythology, architecture, Bronze Age Classical and Byzantine treasures, a wonderful diversity of landscape and the every-circling sea. The island is Greece in microcosm. Read all about it in

WALKING GREEK ISLANDS: NAXOS, PAROS, AMORGOS & SANTORINI www.cicerone.co.uk/1009

NATURAL HISTORY

The Mediterranean climate, the diversity of landscape and island locality make Naxos a living wild garden, and a hotspot for wild flowers and aromatic shrubs.

HIKING

The island is made for walking - and there are many beautiful walks, along the coast or into the hills from the house.  Gilly operated a walking holiday business on Cycladic islands with her husband Robin, and  her book WALKING GREEK ISLANDS: NAXOS, PAROS, AMORGOS & SANTORINI is published April 2020

LOCAL PRODUCE

Naxos is self-sufficient in meat and dairy products, olive oil and many vegetables, famous for its cheese and potatoes, which are exported all over Greece. Grow your own vegetables on the property's good, friable soil, pick your own lemons, and take the olives to a local press to turn into liquid gold oil.  Or eat fine, home-grown food at two of the island's best tavernas, just 5 minutes stroll from the house.
